Fast. Flexible. Accurate.
The sooner you get your wood to market, the more profit you realize. That's the whole idea behind VacDry Kilns.
But speed at the sacrifice of quality is no bargain. VacDry Kilns not only dry your wood faster than conventional methods but do so with less stress, so your lumber comes out looking as good as it went in.
VacDry's patented system, with the latest computer-controlled precision, provides complete control over every variable of the drying process. With VacDry, you get a total system that dries your wood faster, produces wood that looks better and significantly minimizes degrade.
Different operations have different requirements, so VacDry manufactures our kilns in seven different sizes. Regardless of the size you choose, you can rest assure that you're getting the finest vacuum kiln on the market with every component constructed to deliver optimal drying with minimal downtime.
Prices start at $99,700.
Flexibility VacDry vacuum wood dry kilns are exceedingly flexible: the 1.25, 2.5 and 4.0 share a kiln cart design, as do the 8.0 and 10.0, so pre-building charges is easy. If you have a single kiln installation, doors on both ends make downtime absolutely minimal. If you have a multiple kiln installation, an air caster and a central loading area with heating plate storage allows charges to be pre-built and temporarily stored out of the way.
Design Every part of our vacuum kilns has been designed to give you everything you need to follow the two paths of vacuum kiln drying. They will dry the most difficult sizes and species with outstanding quality or they will dry the more common sizes and species with outstanding speed while still maintaining quality. VacDry
kilns are designed to dry red oak at a rate of approximately 1% per hour. PCS VacDry uses components such as SIHI vacuum pumps,
Crane/Deming heating water pumps, ASCO and Belimo valves/actuators and industry standard control components: there are no proprietary parts in
the system.
Required Equipment Heating : A separate heating system is required. The heat source can be from low pressure steam or hot water.
Cooling : The vacuum pump requires cool, clean water, as do the various condensers. A Cooling Tower is included.
Optional Equipment Load Handling : Entire vacuum kiln charges can be moved with an aircaster, which requires a smooth floor surface. Material Handling : Heating plates can be manipulated by a single man, with charges built from a central heating plate storage with an overhead bridge and vacuum grab system.
"Our VacDry kils are really the heart of our entire production process. It produces our native New Zealand hardwoods in a much shorter time with consistantly high quality. Without them we'd need to rethink our business model." Daniel Tung, New Zealand Sustainable Forest Products
